About Flags

Caring for your flag

DO inspect your flag regularly and repair any small tears
DO fit an ‘anti-fray’ netting to your flag
DO wash your flag with warm water and a mild soap

DON’T expose your flag to abnormally high winds
DON’T store your flag wet
DON’T place your flag where it can whip against another surface.

REMEMBER

Regardless of how well it is made, a flag is only a piece of fabric and will, sooner or later, succumb to the elements. Tests have shown that in some cases a flag flown for 24 hours a day will last one quarter as long as one flown only during day light hours.
