About Flags
Caring for your flag
- DO inspect your flag regularly and repair any small tears
- DO fit an ‘anti-fray’ netting to your flag
- DO wash your flag with warm water and a mild soap
- DON’T expose your flag to abnormally high winds
- DON’T store your flag wet
- DON’T place your flag where it can whip against another surface.
REMEMBER
Regardless of how well it is made, a flag is only a piece of fabric and will, sooner
or later, succumb to the elements. Tests have shown that in some cases a flag flown
for 24 hours a day will last one quarter as long as one flown only during day light
hours.
